Shannon Weightman

Shannon is a white settler of English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh ancestry, living and working on the traditional and unceded territory of the Lekwungen peoples. She is a passionate advocate for social equity with a master’s degree in public health and extensive training in cultural safety and anti-racism. Shannon is a community health and equity specialist and over the past eight years has had the opportunity to work with municipal, regional, Indigenous and provincial governments as well as non-profit organizations.
The primary focus of Shannon’s work is merging the fields of planning and public health, bringing a health and equity lens to the development and evaluation of policies, strategies, programs and services. Shannon has expertise in social planning, stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, research and facilitation. She prioritizes building trust-based relationships and prides herself in finding innovative solutions to complex problem
